The Girlies

I decided to do my own photo shoot with Ellie and this is what she does when I try to pose her. She just squeezes her cheeks really hard...which makes me laugh so hard...

and then she starts laughing really hard because Mommy is!
Close up of my cutie Kayla.
She is so beautiful!
Dave blessed Kayla this weekend. I love that their Daddy can bless his little baby girls. Kayla didn't cry, but she complained during the blessing. She complains for a while before she actually starts crying- which is nice and I think that her little voice is so cute so it just makes me smile even though she is complaining. Now when Ellie complains that does not make me smile.

Ellie's Haircut and Christmas

We cut Ellie's hair. Dave did the cutting and I tried to make Ellie hold still. I came out cute. It was almost half way down Ellie's back, but now it goes to her shoulders.

Christmas Day

Here is Ellie opening one of her presents (a baby doll that her Nana got her). Ellie kinda got the Christmas thing this year, but when I would ask her if Santa was coming she would say, "No. A dinosaur". She was excited once we started opening present though. Dave opening one of his presents.

Nana told Ellie to make a funny face and here it is.

Pink Eye

First off- here we have the adorable Kayla smiling so huge you can see her white milky tongue. Tummy time- I couldn't decide which of these pictures I liked best so I just put them all on.

And finally- Pink Eye! Ellie has pink eye. Poor thing. Look close and you will see that her right eye has green boogies all around it. She tolerates me putting drops in her eyes even though she hates it.

Weekend Update

I accidently erased this picture so now it's in the wrong spot. Keep reading and it will make sense.
I put this picture on just because I never put pictures on the blog of Dave and myself. It is not the best picture- I have a line mark on my forehead from wearing a hat, but oh well. This picture is so cute of Ellie. If you look close you can see that her left eye is all pink around the outside because she has a cold. Actually both Ellie and Kayla are sick. That's what always happens- one gets sick and the other follows right along.

Dave was giving Ellie a horsey ride on his back (pulling her across the kitchen floor)...

and Samoa jumped on too! Samoa didn't want to miss out on all the fun. We were laughing. Another fun thing about Samoa- we got new dog food this week (Purina instead of Pedigree) and the first day Samoa didn't want to let the other dogs eat the food so she layed down infront of the bowls and stayed there all day (even napping there). We had to make her leave so the other dogs could eat too.

This is a daily activity for Ellie. She loves to play in the bathroom sink.

Ellie Loves Daddy

Ellie's has a new little game she likes to play. I say, "Mommy loves Daddy" and then Ellie smiles and says, "No. Ellie loves Daddy" and giggles. So then today we were going back and forth with this and I gave Dave a kiss so Ellie ran over and gave Dave a hug. It's fun to be the one that loves Daddy more. Dave got Ellie ready on Saturday morning (well actually every morning this weekend). He did her hair in three separate braides and put her in her overall shorts with pink striped tights underneath. She looked so adorable.

Dave also slicked Ellie's whispy hair aside with gel.

The Weekend

Kayla and Daddy having a conversation. Kayla loves to coo at Dave. Everytime he looks at her she just starts cooing tons. I love it! Yesterday morning Ellie was giving Kayla tons on kisses. Ellie loves her little sister. I just had to capture this moment on camera.

Ellie loves to play with baby dolls. She always has them take naps in her bed.

Ellie was standing on the side of her crib looking at her baby doll while I took a close up.
It was great to see Dave this weekend! The time goes by really fast, but we will see him again on Wednesday. He gets a longer weekend this next week because of Thanksgiving. It is amazing the experiences that Dave is having right now. I am just so grateful for all his hard work and dedication. I am so proud of him. Academy is definitely not easy.

While Ellie Was Napping

Today, while Ellie was napping, Kayla and I spent some time talking and smiling at each other. On Monday Kayla got her 2 month shots (3 of them). When we got home we had one of those moments where Kayla was crying because she had her shots and Ellie was crying I think because I had left her at home with Grandma and Mia plus Daddy has been gone. Both of my girls were crying at the same time and for an extended amount of time (this was my first time experiencing both of them upset at the same time). Sometimes it is tough being a mom, but those smiles make it all worth every moment of missed sleep and enduring crying babies. Who wouldn't look at that big gummy smile and round chubby cheeks and just fall in love with that sweet little girl. Just looking at the pictures you miss out on all the cooing that is accompanying this smiles. We were having a little conversation consisting of gaa's.
While Ellie was sleeping I made two bows for my two girls. It was my first attempt at making bows. I thought they turned out pretty good for my first time. Tomorrow the girls are getting their pictures taken.

This next picture wasn't taken today, but I do love a, fresh from the bath, clean baby. Tonight Dave came home. It was great to see him, but the time went by too fast. We will see him again on Friday. Hooray for weekends!

Smiles From Kayla

Kayla is getting big! She is just so cute! Close up!
Kayla started smiling- I love it! It's the best when you look at her and she does a huge open mouth smile. I was trying to get a picture of it, but by the time I got pictures that weren't blurry she was done smiling.

So cute! Kayla has also started cooing. Yesterday night Dave got to come home for a couple of hours. When he was holding Kayla she was just talking away to her Daddy.

So Cute and So Silly

I love this new little outfit. I like this picture because it reminds me of what I experience all day- Ellie jabbering. She just talks and talks and sings all day long.Ellie stopped taking pacifiers when she was around 6 months old, but now that she has a baby sister that takes pacifiers she will find a pacifier and put it in her mouth. First she hesitates and gives me this look like I know that I'm not suppose to have this, but I'm going to put it in my mouth anyway.

Don't worry she is definitely not attached. They are just a toy to her as you can tell by the next picture.

Ellie went to her 2 year appointment today. She weighs 27 lbs. She is in the 24% for height and 35% for weight. They didn't tell the percentile for her head measurement, but when the nurse was measuring her head she said, "Whoa big head".

Auntie Mindy

Ellie and her Auntie Mindy. Mindy came to visit in October and since then Ellie talks about Mindy almost everyday. She pretends to call Mindy on the phone or she asks me if we can go get Mindy. Today we were leaving the house and she said, "Go Mindy's house".

CHP Academy Entrance Day

Dave went into the CHP Academy yesterday!!! He has 27 weeks of paramilitary training and then he will graduate in May. Knowing that it is like military training and he was being yelled at, I was anxious to hear from Dave all day (they get to call home at night). He called home at around 9 pm and sounded great. Dave said it was what he expected it to be. We only talked for 2 minutes 20 seconds because he still had to shine his shoes, shine his brass, iron his shirt, learn to make his bed correctly and study before he could go to bed. I am so proud of Dave!

Ellie and Kayla snuggles

I found Ellie's growth chart yesterday. Ellie weighed 7 lbs 1 oz at her 2 week appointment and didn't hit 12 pounds until her 4 month appointment. Kayla weighed 12 lbs at 6 weeks. Yesterday morning I set Kayla on top of Ellie (tummy to tummy) it was so cute because Ellie hugged Kayla and Kayla fell asleep.

Ellie's Donut

While Dave was taking this picture we were laughing so hard because Dave asked Ellie to smile and this is the face she made. Ellie has been bringing me diapers and telling me "stinky" before she would go- so I'm pretty sure she is ready to start potty training. So I got her some undies and pull-ups, but after half a day I decided that I am not ready for potty training and I would rather wait until Kayla is a little older. Yum donuts. Ellie loves donuts!
Since Kayla has been here Ellie has taken a real interest in her baby dolls. She likes to make them take a nap. She lays her baby down and gives them kisses. Ellie loves Kayla too. She loves to hold Kayla's hand, rub her head, and give her kisses.
