Beautiful Ellie

Last week as we were driving home from church Ellie says, "Lily (a girl in nursery) loves Jesus, but I love Santa Claus".
So this week we have had many a conversation about Jesus and Christmas. On our way home from church the conversation was:
Me: "Christmas is Jesus' birthday and Santa just brings the presents for Jesus' birthday party".
Ellie: "Jesus turns into a baby at night (her favorite song is Silent Night)".
Me: "Jesus was a baby, but now he is big and lives in heaven with Heavenly Father".
Ellie: "Oh, Jesus wears white and drives a white truck and Santa lives in heaven with Jesus". Me: "Sure".
I think that the true meaning of Christmas is pretty confusing to a 3 year old when Santa is so exciting.

Kayla Eating

What a big girl- eating with a spoon all by herself!

Look at those beautiful eyes!
Kayla is such a busy girl! She climbs on everything- she's not afraid of much except for people she doesn't know very well.

Strong Muscles

Dave got Power Blocks for his Christmas present this year. Ellie likes to lift her little weights like Daddy does (the 2.5 pound weights you can insert). I am pretty sure that Ellie thinks her elbows are her muscles because she always talks about her elbows when she shows us her strong muscles.

Dave benching all the weight. They are 90 pounds each plus the 5 pound add ins for each!

Action Pose

What should we do while Kayla is sleeping? I know you jump in the air and I will take pictures of you and then we can look at the pictures and laugh.

Ellie and Kayla Being Cute

Hugging Ellie looking
and now Kayla. It's hard to get them to look at the same time.
Ellie's funny face
Ellie took this picture of Kayla!

Halloween

Ellie chose to be Mickey Mouse this Halloween. I made her costume, but she made sure to tell me all the things she needed to be Mickey Mouse. Two white buttons, gloves with three wiskers on them, and yellow shoes. We took Ellie Trick or Treating for Halloween. She loved it. She would walk up to the door and when they opened the door she would raise her hands up in excitement and say, "Trick or Treat".
Kayla was a bee. She enjoyed the treats she got like her big sister.
Ellie dressed up for her preschool party. The recited the poem, "Five Little Pumpkins" and sang a song. Then they played games and ate cookies.
The Sunday after Halloween Ellie said, "I want to see my pumpkin by the door". I said, "Ellie the pumpkin is gone because it isn't Halloween anymore". She cried and said, "But I want it to be Halloween day".

Diva Emari and Ellie flying

Emari was out sun bathing this morning. I love how she stretches out her legs and closes her eyes. That is total relaxation right there!

Emari the Diva in her dollar store dress.
Kayla and Ellie love the dogs. We have to watch them because Kayla will grab a hold of Emari and Emari will just sit there and take it instead of moving out of her way.
Dave was throwing Ellie up in the sky and making her fly. She was flapping her hands like a bird and laughing.
Whoops...Sorry for the double picture.

Painting

Ellie making paintings for her preschool teachers.

Kayla painting with pudding.

Kayla's First Birthday

Look at how Kayla is looking at her cake. SO CUTE!
How Kayla really felt about the whole birthday thing. Not interested!
We made Kayla a birthday cookie. Dave did the decorating with frosting. It came out so cute and yummy!

Ellie's Birthday Cakes and First Day of Preschool

Ellie wanted a butterfly birthday this year (because of the Fancy Nancy books), so we made her two butterfly birthday cakes.

This picture was taken right before we went to school on Ellie's first day of preschool. She was so excited!

More Cute Girls

With her teeth growing in she can't help but want to feel them. Kayla has been shaking her head every time anyone says "no". She only walks (no crawling) and tries to run. She says, "mom" and "da da". Kayla loves to laugh. She spends a lot of the day walking around doing a fake laugh.
I got a cute picture of the two girls together!
Ellie wearing Daddy's work boots. She saw them by the front door and put them on all by herself.
Ellie started preschool the beginning of this month. She loves preschool! Her 3rd birthday was last week. Yesterday we set up a tent in the backyard and had a little camp out. Ellie kept saying she was going to sleep in the temple.
