Happy Birthday Ellie and Kayla!

Ellie turned 4 yesterday. She wanted a Dak cake and a Mr. Pickles cake for Kayla. Look at how much she loves her Dak cake. For those that don't know, Dak is Ellie's "imaginary friend". Sometimes she likes to pretend to be Dak the dog and Mr. Pickles is Dak's friend. While I was making her cake Ellie had to taste all the different frostings: black, white, and green. I told her they all tasted the same, but she had to see for herself. She had to wait all day for Daddy and Nana and Papa to get home from work to do cake and presents, so it was a very long day for a little girl. At about 3 pm she said, "It is never going to be night time". Luckily we found a lizard outside that she chased around for a while and took her mind off of waiting. She wanted to touch the lizard, but every time she got close she would have a freak out moment of stomping her feet and shaking her hands. It was really funny.

Kayla's birthday is really next Friday, but we decided that it would be easier for Kayla to just celebrate and open presents at the same time as Ellie instead of making her wait a week for her birthday. When she's older she will probably want to do her birthday separate from Ellie. Poor Kayla has a cold, so for the last 3 days she has wanted me to hold her the entire day. Today Kayla was saying, "Me four". I said, "Ellie's four and you are two". Kayla said, "Me four". Kayla wants to be big and do everything her big sister does.
