Surgery Day
Ellie had her surgery on her philomatrixoma today. We took her into the hospital at 6 am, which means we woke up at 4:30 am to get there on time. When we first got there we put her in a yellow hospital gown. She really liked all toys there. 
So of course she didn't mind being there at first. Then we took her into another room where they gave us a liquid medicine to give her, which she spit out most of. While we were waiting for the doctor to come Ellie started to get really relaxed from the medicine, so by the time they took her she really didn't care. Dave and I went and had breakfast and by the time we got back the doctor came out in 10 minutes to tell us it went well.
When they brought Ellie back into the recovery room she was just waking up. She cried a lot. Ellie didn't like the IV in her hand. She tried to bite the IV. She cried for a little while, but by the time we left Ellie was acting more like her normal self. I don't think that she even notices the bandage on her face. However, she has had the sore on her face for about 9 months before having it removed, so maybe she is just use to having something there. We are very happy that it is gone now and we don't have to worry about it anymore.

What surgery did she have and why??? We can't even say that word!! Glad she is well.... What with all of the snow??? We miss you! Lyndsey and Patti
Poor Ellie, that is so sad! I hate it when kids have to get IV's, that was the worst part of having a baby for me, getting the dang IV! Nothing is worse, especially for those TINY hands! Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving! Love, Al and Jay and Ben and Jack
