My Birthday and More

We celebrated my 28th birthday by going out to Indian food and coming home and having chocolate cake. It was a great birthday!

Jake, Nikki, Ashley, Aaron, Brandon came to visit. Ellie had a lot of fun playing with her cousins.
Kayla and Daddy hanging out in the backyard. Kayla's getting all four of her top teeth at the same time right now.

Lizard

We found a little lizard today. Ellie carried it around for a while. I don't think the lizard liked it very much, but Ellie enjoyed having a lizard to hold.

Potty Princess

We got this princess crown to celebrate Ellie using her potty and told her that everytime she used her potty she got to be the potty princess. We have done all kinds of things to keep her motivated. We've done candies, stickers, gum, and a princess crown. Now she is potty trained. Hooray! Here is Kayla being a princess. If you look closely you can see her bottom teeth.
And Ellie being the potty princess.

Pool Time

We bought a little plastic pool for the girls. (Check out Samoa yawning in the background)
Kayla was splashing the water with her hands, but was a little shocked to discover that it splashed in her face.

My girls and pictures...it's hard to get them to both look at the camera at the same time. So here is Ellie looking...
and now Kayla looking.
It's been nice and warm here in southern California. Perfect weather for swimming.

San Jose

Dave's Grandma lived a long life of 91 years and just passed last week, so this weekend we went up to San Jose for her funeral. It was a beautiful funeral service. It was nice to see family members and she the lives that she touched.
We stayed at the Embassy Suites. It was nice. There was a waterfall and pond in the middle of the hotel with big coy fish in it. There was an indoor swimming pool. Dave did some huge splashes in the pool. John and Rob (Dave's brothers) were also doing some big splashes. I attempted to do a splash, but I don't think that it really worked. Ellie tried jumping into the pool too. She would squat really low and try to grab Dave's arms before she would jump. It was really funny. Dave was throwing Ellie way up in the air and catching her while she splashed in the water and Ellie loved that. She had a huge smile on her face. We also enjoyed big breakfasts in the morning, next to the coy pond.
The first night we were there we went out to dinner at a restaurant that Dave's family use to go to when Dave was little. Dave's family lived in San Jose when he was little until he was in first grade. The second night Dave and I went out to Chili's. This picture is Kayla at Chili's. (You should click on this picture and make it zoom in because you can see the colors of Kayla's eyes really well).
The girls did really well for so much driving in the car. Road trips are a lot more difficult when you are traveling with little ones.

Kayla's crawling

Ellie making a funny face. Ellie starts preschool in September, so we went to check out her preschool this week. Ellie had a lot of fun playing with the kids and is excited to start school.
Kayla crawls on her hands and knees now...
and sits up by herself...
and goes back to crawling and pulling herself to standing next to things.
